AGM Batteries

XS Power AGM batteries use absorbed glass mat technology to deliver high cranking amps, deep cycle capability, and vibration resistance in a sealed, maintenance-free package. The AGM construction holds the electrolyte in suspension rather than free liquid, allowing the battery to be mounted in any orientation except inverted — providing flexibility for custom mounting locations in race cars, show cars, and audio builds where the battery is relocated from the factory location for weight distribution or space reasons.

Lithium Batteries

Lithium batteries deliver comparable or higher cranking amps than AGM batteries at a fraction of the weight — a meaningful advantage in drag racing, road course, and circle track applications where every pound of weight reduction improves performance.

XS Power lithium batteries include an integrated battery management system (BMS) that protects the cells from overcharge, over-discharge, and excessive current draw — the critical safety and longevity features that distinguish quality lithium batteries from unprotected alternatives. The BMS ensures correct charging behavior with standard automotive alternators and battery chargers, simplifying the integration of lithium battery technology into existing electrical systems.

Capacitors & Power Distribution

XS Power produces capacitors and power distribution components for car audio applications where instantaneous current demand from amplifiers exceeds the battery's ability to deliver current without voltage sag. Capacitors store electrical energy and release it instantaneously during high-demand transients — preventing the voltage drop that causes amplifier clipping, headlight dimming, and other symptoms of insufficient electrical system capacity during bass-heavy music playback at high volume.

Power distribution blocks and bus bars provide organized, high-current power distribution from the battery to multiple amplifiers and accessories, with correct wire gauge provisions and fusing for each output circuit. Correct power distribution is as important as battery capacity for a reliable, high-performance car audio electrical system.

Charging Requirements

XS Power AGM batteries require a charger compatible with AGM chemistry — maximum charge voltage of 14.4–14.7V for standard charging. Do not use a conventional flooded battery charger set to a high voltage or equalization mode. XS Power lithium batteries require a lithium-compatible charger or a standard automotive alternator — the integrated BMS manages the charge acceptance to protect the cells. Verify charger compatibility before charging any XS Power battery to prevent damage from incorrect charging voltage or mode.
