XRP — AN Fittings, Braided Hose & Performance Fluid System Components

XRP — Xtreme Racing Products — has been manufacturing high-performance AN fittings, braided hose, and fluid system components since 1967, building a reputation on the precision-machined fittings and high-quality hose assemblies that professional racing teams and serious performance builders depend on for leak-free fuel, oil, coolant, and brake system plumbing. From a simple fuel line replacement to a complete custom plumbing system for a race car, XRP produces the components needed to build a fluid system that performs correctly and holds up under the pressure, temperature, and vibration demands of high-performance use.

AN Fittings

XRP AN fittings are manufactured from 6061-T6 aluminum and stainless steel to the AN (Army-Navy) dimensional standard, providing correct thread form, correct seat angle, and correct dimensional tolerances for leak-free assembly with any AN-standard hose end and fitting from any manufacturer. AN fittings use a 37-degree flare seat that provides a metal-to-metal seal without gaskets or thread sealant — the correct assembly torque is the only variable that determines whether the connection seals correctly.

XRP produces a comprehensive range of AN fitting configurations — straight, 45-degree, 90-degree, and 180-degree hose ends, bulkhead fittings, tee fittings, union fittings, and adapter fittings in AN sizes from -3 through -20 and larger. Adapter fittings convert between AN thread sizes and NPT, ORB, and other thread standards used on engine, transmission, and accessory ports, allowing AN plumbing to connect to virtually any fluid system component.

Braided Hose

XRP braided hose is available in stainless steel braid over PTFE liner and stainless steel braid over rubber core constructions for different application requirements. PTFE-lined hose provides the highest chemical resistance and lowest permeability for fuel, oil, and brake fluid applications where hose compatibility with aggressive fluids is a priority. Rubber core hose provides more flexibility for routing in tight spaces and is the correct choice for coolant and lower-pressure applications where PTFE's stiffness is a routing challenge.

Hose is sold by the foot for custom-length assemblies and in pre-made lengths for common applications. XRP hose ends are available in reusable and swaged configurations — reusable ends allow the hose to be cut to length and assembled in the field without special tools, while swaged ends provide a permanent, factory-quality assembly for applications where the hose length is fixed.

Fuel Line & Fuel System Components

XRP produces fuel line hose and fittings specifically formulated for compatibility with gasoline, diesel, ethanol blends, and methanol — the fuel types used across street performance, drag racing, and road course applications. Correct fuel hose material selection is critical for long-term reliability — hose that is not compatible with the fuel being used will deteriorate internally, contaminating the fuel system and eventually failing. XRP's fuel hose lineup covers the full range of fuel types with correct material specifications for each.

Brake Line Components

XRP produces stainless steel braided brake line hose and fittings for performance brake system plumbing. Stainless braided brake lines eliminate the expansion under pressure that causes the spongy pedal feel of aged rubber brake hoses, providing a firmer, more consistent pedal feel and improved brake system response. XRP brake line fittings are available in the correct thread forms for domestic and import brake system connections, with correct seat angles for leak-free assembly at brake system pressures.

Common Applications

XRP fluid system components are used across drag racing, road course, circle track, off-road racing, and high-performance street applications. Fuel system plumbing, oil system plumbing, coolant system plumbing, and brake system plumbing are the primary application areas, with XRP's comprehensive fitting and hose lineup covering virtually every connection required in a complete race car or performance street vehicle fluid system.

Assembly Notes

AN fitting assembly requires correct torque — hand-tight plus 1/6 to 1/4 turn is the standard guideline for aluminum AN fittings, with stainless fittings requiring slightly more torque for correct sealing. Do not use thread sealant on AN fittings — the 37-degree flare seat provides the seal, and sealant can contaminate the fluid system. PTFE-lined hose requires a clean, square cut at the correct length before installing the hose end — a ragged or angled cut prevents correct hose end seating and causes leaks. Pressure-test all new plumbing assemblies before running the engine to verify leak-free connections at all fitting joints.
