Woodward Fab

Woodward Fab — Tube Benders, Metal Fabrication Tools & Shop Equipment

Woodward Fab manufactures tube benders, metal fabrication tools, and shop equipment designed for custom builders, hot rod fabricators, race car builders, and performance shops who need professional-grade fabrication capability without the cost of industrial tooling. From manual and hydraulic tube benders to English wheels, bead rollers, planishing hammers, and welding accessories, Woodward Fab produces the tools that make custom metal fabrication accessible to serious builders at every level of the craft.

Tube Benders

Woodward Fab tube benders are the core of the product lineup, providing the capability to bend round and square tubing to precise angles for roll cage construction, chassis fabrication, exhaust system building, and custom frame work. Manual tube benders are available for smaller diameter tubing in the range commonly used for roll bars, exhaust pipes, and light chassis work. Hydraulic tube benders handle larger diameter and heavier wall tubing for main chassis rails, roll cage main hoops, and structural applications where the bending force required exceeds manual capability.

Die sets are available in a range of tube diameters and bend radii to match the specific tubing sizes used in each fabrication application. Correct die selection for the tube diameter and wall thickness being bent is critical for producing clean bends without tube collapse or wrinkling at the bend apex. Woodward Fab provides die selection guidance for different tube sizes and applications to simplify correct tooling selection.

English Wheels

Woodward Fab English wheels allow fabricators to form compound curves in sheet metal for custom body panels, fenders, hoods, and other curved metal components that cannot be formed by simple bending. The English wheel uses a large upper wheel and a smaller lower anvil wheel to stretch and shape the metal progressively through repeated passes, with the anvil wheel profile and the gap between the wheels controlling the shape and rate of the curve being formed. Woodward Fab English wheels are available in bench-top and floor-standing configurations for different shop space and workpiece size requirements.

Bead Rollers

Woodward Fab bead rollers form decorative and structural beads, ribs, and flanges in sheet metal panels for custom body work, floor pans, firewall panels, and other flat metal components. Beads add rigidity to flat sheet metal panels without adding weight, and the decorative bead patterns produced by a bead roller are a hallmark of quality custom fabrication work. Die sets are available in multiple bead profiles for different decorative and structural applications.

Planishing Hammers

Woodward Fab planishing hammers smooth and refine the surface of formed sheet metal panels, removing the hammer marks and surface irregularities left by hand forming and English wheel work. The planishing hammer uses a rapidly reciprocating upper die against a lower anvil die to work the metal surface progressively, smoothing the surface to a consistent finish that requires minimal filler work before paint. Pneumatic planishing hammers provide faster and more consistent results than hand planishing for production fabrication work.

Welding Accessories & Shop Equipment

Woodward Fab produces welding accessories and shop equipment that support the fabrication process — including welding tables, clamps, magnetic squares, and positioning fixtures that hold workpieces in correct alignment during tack welding and final welding. Correct workpiece positioning and fixturing is as important as welding technique for producing straight, correctly aligned fabricated assemblies. Woodward Fab's welding table and fixturing lineup provides the setup capability needed for consistent, professional-quality fabrication work.

Common Applications

Woodward Fab tools are used across hot rod and custom car fabrication, race car chassis and roll cage construction, custom exhaust system fabrication, motorcycle frame and accessory fabrication, and general custom metal fabrication in performance shops and home garages. The product lineup is designed for the serious hobbyist and professional fabricator who needs professional-grade tooling capability without the cost of industrial fabrication equipment.

Build Quality & Value

Woodward Fab tools are manufactured to provide professional fabrication capability at a price point accessible to serious hobbyists and small professional shops. Tool construction uses correct material thickness and machining tolerances for the load demands of each tool type, with die sets manufactured to correct dimensional accuracy for consistent, repeatable bends and forms. The value proposition is genuine fabrication capability — not toy-grade tools that produce inconsistent results and fail under regular use...
