Timbren — Suspension Enhancement Systems for Trucks, SUVs & Tow Vehicles

Timbren has been engineering rubber suspension enhancement products since 1968, developing a unique approach to load support and suspension improvement that uses engineered rubber helper springs rather than air bags or additional steel springs. Timbren's Suspension Enhancement Systems (SES) and Active Off-Road Jounce Systems (AORS) install in the existing jounce bumper location on most trucks and SUVs, providing progressive load support that eliminates sag under heavy loads, improves towing and hauling stability, and maintains correct ride height without the maintenance requirements of air bag suspension systems.

Suspension Enhancement Systems (SES)

Timbren SES kits replace the factory rubber jounce bumper with a progressive-rate rubber helper spring that engages progressively as the suspension compresses under load. At normal unloaded ride height, the Timbren unit does not contact the axle or suspension component — providing no change to the unloaded ride quality. As load is added and the suspension compresses, the Timbren unit begins to engage, providing increasing support that prevents the suspension from bottoming out and maintains correct ride height under maximum load.

This progressive engagement characteristic is the key advantage of the Timbren system over fixed-rate helper springs and air bags — the ride quality at light loads is unchanged from stock, while the load support at maximum payload and towing capacity is significantly improved. No air lines, compressors, or electrical components are required, and the rubber construction requires no maintenance over the life of the product.

Active Off-Road Jounce Systems (AORS)

Timbren's AORS is engineered specifically for off-road applications where suspension articulation is as important as load support. The AORS uses a hollow rubber spring design that provides load support under compression while allowing greater suspension travel than a solid rubber helper spring — maintaining the articulation capability needed for off-road use without sacrificing the load support benefits of the Timbren system. The AORS is the correct choice for lifted trucks and Jeeps that see both off-road use and heavy towing or hauling duty.

Towing & Hauling Applications

Timbren SES kits are one of the most popular upgrades for trucks and SUVs used for regular towing and hauling. Factory suspension on most trucks is designed for a compromise between unloaded ride quality and loaded stability — a compromise that results in excessive sag, reduced steering control, and degraded braking performance when the vehicle is loaded to or near its rated capacity. Timbren SES kits address the loaded side of this compromise without affecting the unloaded ride, providing a practical improvement in towing and hauling capability without the cost and complexity of a full suspension upgrade.

Common Applications

Timbren SES and AORS kits cover Ford F-150, F-250, and F-350, Chevrolet Silverado and Colorado, GMC Sierra and Canyon, Ram 1500, 2500, and 3500, Toyota Tacoma and Tundra, Jeep Wrangler and Gladiator, and a range of additional domestic and import truck and SUV platforms. Front and rear kits are available depending on the application and the load distribution of the specific towing or hauling use case.

Build Quality & No-Maintenance Design

Timbren rubber helper springs are manufactured from engineered rubber compounds formulated for long-term resistance to compression set, UV degradation, and the temperature cycling of outdoor vehicle use. The rubber construction requires no inflation, no adjustment, and no maintenance over the service life of the product — a significant advantage over air bag systems that require periodic pressure checks, compressor maintenance, and occasional air line and fitting replacement. Timbren products are backed by a lifetime warranty against defects in materials and workmanship.

Installation Notes

Timbren SES installations are straightforward bolt-in replacements for the factory jounce bumper on most applications, requiring only basic hand tools and 30–60 minutes of installation time. No drilling, cutting, or modification of the factory suspension is required on supported platforms. The Timbren unit installs in the factory jounce bumper location using the existing mounting hardware on most applications. Verify the correct kit for your specific year, make, model, and suspension configuration before ordering — front and rear kits are different, and coil spring and leaf spring applications use different Timbren designs.
