Superchips — Performance Programmers & Tuners for Ford, GM, Dodge & Jeep

Superchips has been developing performance programmers and calibration tools for domestic trucks, SUVs, and cars since 1983, engineering handheld tuning devices that deliver real-world horsepower gains, improved throttle response, and critical calibration corrections for lifted trucks and modified vehicles. The Flashpaq and Flashcal product lines are among the most popular performance programmers in the truck and Jeep market, providing a straightforward path to improved performance and correct vehicle calibration without professional tuning equipment or expertise.

Flashpaq Programmers

The Superchips Flashpaq is the flagship performance programmer in the lineup, delivering optimized fuel and ignition calibrations for Ford, GM, and Dodge truck and SUV applications through the OBD-II port. Performance calibrations are pre-loaded for each supported vehicle, with power levels developed on Superchips' in-house dynos to maximize horsepower and torque within safe operating parameters. Throttle response calibrations reduce the factory drive-by-wire lag built into modern trucks, delivering a more immediate, direct response to driver input across the RPM range.

The Flashpaq also addresses transmission shift points, torque converter lockup, and rev limiter settings on supported applications, providing a more complete performance calibration than products that address only fuel and ignition. Speedometer and tire size correction is included for vehicles running non-stock tire sizes after a lift or wheel upgrade — restoring correct speedometer accuracy and transmission shift point calibration after a tire size change.

Flashcal for Jeep

The Superchips Flashcal is purpose-built for Jeep Wrangler and Gladiator applications, providing the calibration corrections most commonly needed by Jeep owners who have lifted their vehicle and installed larger tires. Tire size and gear ratio correction restores correct speedometer accuracy, odometer calibration, and transmission shift points after a tire size change — the most common calibration need for lifted Jeep builds. The Flashcal also provides axle ratio correction for builds that have re-geared the differentials to compensate for larger tire diameter.

Additional Flashcal features include idle-up for accessory use, throttle response adjustment, and electronic sway bar disconnect calibration on equipped Wrangler models. The Flashcal's Jeep-specific feature set makes it the most targeted calibration tool available for Wrangler and Gladiator owners who want correct vehicle calibration after common modifications without paying for a full performance tune they don't need.

Speedometer & Tire Size Calibration

Speedometer calibration is one of the most important and most overlooked aspects of a lifted truck or Jeep build. Incorrect tire size calibration affects not just speedometer accuracy but also odometer readings, transmission shift points, ABS calibration thresholds, and traction control intervention points on electronically controlled vehicles. Superchips programmers correct all affected systems in a single programming step, restoring correct calibration across the vehicle's electronic systems after a tire size change.

Common Applications

Superchips programmers cover Ford F-150, F-250, F-350, Mustang, and Expedition, Chevrolet Silverado, Tahoe, Suburban, and Camaro, GMC Sierra and Yukon, Dodge Ram 1500, 2500, and 3500, Jeep Wrangler JK, JL, and Gladiator, and a range of additional domestic truck and SUV platforms. Application coverage spans current-model-year vehicles through early OBD-II platforms, with vehicle-specific calibrations for each supported year, make, model, and engine combination.

Ease of Use & Reversibility

Superchips programmers are designed for owner installation without professional assistance. The handheld interface walks the user through the programming process with on-screen prompts for vehicle information entry and calibration selection. Programming is fully reversible — the device stores the factory calibration before making any changes, allowing the vehicle to be returned to stock at any time for dealer service or warranty work. This reversibility is particularly important for vehicles under factory warranty where dealer service may require stock calibration.

Installation Notes

Superchips programmers connect to the OBD-II port with the ignition on and engine off. Programming takes 5–15 minutes depending on the vehicle and calibration being applied. Do not start the vehicle during programming. After programming is complete, a key cycle is required before starting the engine. Read all instructions before beginning the programming process to avoid interruption mid-cycle, which can cause calibration errors that require the device to be used again to restore correct pro...
