Roush Performance

Roush Performance — Superchargers, Exhaust & Performance Parts for Ford Mustang & F-150

Roush Performance is one of the most respected names in Ford performance, with a motorsport heritage that spans NASCAR, IMSA, and decades of Mustang racing and development. Founded by Jack Roush — one of the winningest team owners in NASCAR history — Roush Performance produces supercharger kits, cold air intakes, exhaust systems, and complete performance packages for Ford Mustang, F-150, and other Ford platforms that are engineered with the same attention to detail and performance validation that defines Roush's racing programs.

Supercharger Kits

Roush supercharger kits are the flagship product of the performance lineup, delivering significant power gains on Ford Mustang GT and F-150 applications through positive displacement supercharger systems that are engineered, calibrated, and validated specifically for each supported platform. Roush supercharger kits include the supercharger, intercooler, intake manifold, calibrated ECU tune, and all required hardware for a complete installation — not a collection of components that require separate tuning and calibration to work correctly together.

The Roush Phase 1, Phase 2, and Phase 3 package system allows buyers to select the level of performance modification appropriate for their driving goals and budget, with each phase building on the previous to deliver progressively higher power output. Phase 1 typically covers the supercharger kit, Phase 2 adds exhaust and intake upgrades, and Phase 3 includes suspension and brake upgrades for a complete performance vehicle transformation.

Cold Air Intakes

Roush cold air intake systems replace the factory airbox and intake tube with a larger-diameter, heat-shielded intake path that draws cooler air from outside the engine bay for improved airflow and reduced intake air temperature. Application-specific designs for Mustang GT, Mustang EcoBoost, and F-150 platforms ensure correct MAF sensor placement, correct throttle body fitment, and correct heat shield integration for each supported engine. Roush intakes are calibrated to work with the factory ECU without requiring additional tuning on naturally aspirated applications.

Exhaust Systems

Roush exhaust systems deliver an aggressive, distinctive exhaust note that complements the Mustang's performance character without the drone that makes some aftermarket exhausts unpleasant on the street. Cat-back and axle-back configurations are available depending on the desired sound level and installation scope. Roush's active exhaust systems on supported Mustang applications allow the driver to select between quiet and performance exhaust modes, providing the aggressive sound when desired without the constant noise of a full-time performance exhaust.

Mandrel-bent stainless steel tubing maintains consistent interior diameter through every bend, eliminating the flow restriction of crush-bent alternatives. Muffler designs are selected for each application to deliver the correct Roush sound character — recognizable and aggressive without being antisocial on public roads.

Suspension & Handling

Roush suspension components are developed and validated at Roush's engineering facility for correct spring rates, geometry, and ride quality on Mustang platforms. Lowering spring kits reduce ride height for improved stance and handling response, with spring rates selected to maintain correct suspension travel and ride quality rather than simply lowering the vehicle. Sway bar upgrades reduce body roll in corners, improving the Mustang's flat cornering capability without the harshness of an overly stiff suspension setup.

Common Applications

Roush Performance products are engineered primarily for Ford Mustang GT (S197 and S550 platforms), Mustang EcoBoost (S550), and Ford F-150 (current generation). Supercharger kits are available for the 5.0L Coyote V8 in both Mustang and F-150 applications, with platform-specific calibrations for each vehicle's ECU and fuel system. Cold air intakes and exhaust systems cover a broader range of Ford applications including Mustang, F-150, and select other Ford performance vehicles.

Roush Engineering & Validation

Every Roush Performance product is developed and validated at Roush's engineering facility in Livonia, Michigan, using the same engineering processes and testing standards applied to Roush's professional racing programs. Dyno testing, road testing, and durability validation are standard parts of the product development process — not afterthoughts. The result is a product that performs as advertised, installs correctly, and holds up over the long term without the reliability issues that affect less rigorously developed aftermarket products.
