Nitrous Express

Nitrous Express — Precision Nitrous Oxide Systems for Street & Race

Nitrous Express has been engineering nitrous oxide systems since 1995, building a reputation on precision-machined components, consistent power delivery, and the kind of system reliability that serious racers and street performance builders demand from a nitrous setup. From entry-level plate systems for street/strip builds to advanced direct port systems for dedicated race engines, Nitrous Express produces nitrous solutions for every power level and application — engineered to deliver the advertised shot consistently, pass after pass.

Wet & Dry Nitrous Systems

Nitrous Express produces both wet and dry nitrous system configurations to match different induction setups and tuning preferences. Wet systems deliver both nitrous and supplemental fuel through the same nozzle or plate, providing a self-contained power adder that works with the factory fuel system on most applications. Dry systems deliver nitrous only through the nozzle, relying on the factory fuel injectors to supply the additional fuel required — making them the preferred choice for EFI applications where the ECU can be tuned to add fuel in response to the nitrous activation signal.

Plate systems mount between the carburetor or throttle body and the intake manifold, distributing nitrous and fuel evenly across all intake runners for consistent cylinder-to-cylinder distribution. Direct port systems deliver nitrous and fuel directly to each intake port through individual nozzles, providing the most precise distribution and the highest power potential of any nitrous delivery method.

Solenoids & Precision Components

Nitrous Express solenoids are the heart of the system, controlling the flow of nitrous and fuel with precise, repeatable actuation on every activation. NX solenoids are manufactured to tight flow tolerances, ensuring the jet sizing determines the power output rather than solenoid flow variation. High-flow solenoids are available for large-shot applications where standard solenoids become a flow restriction, and progressive controllers allow the nitrous shot to be ramped in gradually rather than applied all at once — improving traction and reducing drivetrain shock on high-power applications.

Bottles & Bottle Heaters

Nitrous Express produces nitrous bottles in multiple capacities for different application requirements — from compact 2.5 lb bottles for tight installations to 15 lb and larger bottles for extended race use. Bottle pressure directly affects system output — NX bottle heaters maintain the correct bottle pressure across varying ambient temperatures, ensuring consistent power delivery regardless of whether the bottle is cold from sitting or warm from repeated use. Correct bottle pressure is one of the most important variables in nitrous system tuning, and NX's bottle heater lineup addresses it directly.

Progressive Controllers & Electronics

Nitrous Express produces progressive nitrous controllers that ramp the nitrous shot in over a user-defined time period, allowing the power to build gradually rather than hitting all at once. Progressive control is particularly valuable in high-horsepower applications where full-shot activation at low vehicle speed overwhelms traction, and in automatic transmission applications where the drivetrain shock of a large instantaneous shot accelerates wear. NX's digital progressive controllers provide precise ramp rate adjustment and activation window control for repeatable, tunable nitrous delivery.

Common Applications

Nitrous Express systems are available for carbureted and EFI domestic V8 applications — including Small Block and Big Block Chevy, GM LS and LT, Small Block and Big Block Ford, Ford Coyote, and Chrysler/Mopar V8 platforms. Import performance applications are covered by NX's universal and application-specific kits for Honda, Subaru, Mitsubishi, and other popular platforms. Power levels range from 50 hp street shots through 500+ hp direct port race applications depending on the system and supporting engine modifications.

Safety & Supporting Modifications

Nitrous oxide systems require supporting modifications scaled to the power level being added. Fuel system capacity, ignition timing retard, and engine internal strength must all be appropriate for the shot size being used. NX recommends 2–3 degrees of ignition timing retard per 50 hp of nitrous on most applications, with a dedicated timing retard controller or ECU tuning to implement the retard correctly. Fuel pressure must remain stable under nitrous activation — a fuel pressure gauge and high-flow fuel pump are essential supporting components for any nitrous installation.
