Performance Chips

Jet Performance chips replace the factory PROM or calibration chip in older OBD-I GM, Ford, and Mopar vehicles with a performance-optimized calibration that advances ignition timing, adjusts fuel delivery, and raises rev limiters within safe operating parameters for the engine. For classic and early OBD-I vehicles where handheld programmers are not compatible, a performance chip is the most direct path to improved engine calibration without custom tuning.

Jet chips are application-specific — calibrated for the exact engine, transmission, and axle ratio combination of each supported vehicle to ensure the performance gains are delivered correctly without drivability compromises. Each chip is a direct replacement for the factory unit with no soldering or permanent modification to the ECU required.

Performance Programmers

Jet's handheld programmer lineup covers OBD-II domestic vehicles across GM, Ford, Dodge, and Jeep platforms, delivering performance calibrations through the OBD-II port without chip replacement. Power levels are pre-loaded for each supported vehicle, with Stage 1 and Stage 2 calibrations available depending on the level of modification and performance target. Calibrations optimize ignition timing, fuel delivery, transmission shift points, and torque converter lockup for improved acceleration and throttle response.

Jet programmers store the factory calibration before making any changes, allowing the vehicle to be returned to stock at any time — a critical feature for vehicles under factory warranty or requiring dealer service. Speedometer and tire size correction is included on supported platforms for vehicles running non-stock tire sizes after a lift or wheel upgrade.

Power Control Modules

Jet's Power Control Module (PCM) program offers a factory ECU exchange service where the OEM module is replaced with a Jet-calibrated unit pre-programmed for the specific vehicle. This approach is particularly effective for vehicles where handheld programmers have limited calibration access or where a more comprehensive calibration change is required than a standard programmer can deliver through the OBD-II port.

Dyno-Developed Calibrations

Every Jet Performance calibration is developed on an in-house chassis dynamometer, with before-and-after testing on the specific vehicle application to verify power gains and drivability across the full operating range. Jet publishes dyno results for their calibrations, providing transparent performance data rather than marketing claims. Gains vary by application, engine condition, and supporting modifications, but Jet's calibrations consistently deliver measurable improvements in throttle response and mid-range torque on supported platforms.

Installation Notes

Jet programmer installations connect to the OBD-II port with the ignition on and engine off. Programming takes 5–15 minutes depending on the vehicle and calibration level. The vehicle should not be started during programming. Chip installations on OBD-I vehicles require access to the ECU and careful chip removal and installation — follow Jet's instructions precisely to avoid damaging the ECU socket. A key cycle is required after programming before starting the engine.
