Performance Headers

Hooker's header lineup spans shorty, mid-length, and long-tube configurations across a wide range of domestic V8 applications. Long-tube headers deliver the strongest low-to-mid RPM torque gains by maximizing primary tube length for optimal scavenging at the RPM range where street and strip engines spend most of their time. Shorty headers provide a bolt-on improvement over cast iron exhaust manifolds in applications where ground clearance, steering clearance, or emissions equipment limits long-tube fitment.

Primary tube diameter and collector size are application-matched to the engine displacement and power level of each supported platform — not adapted from a universal spec. Hooker headers are manufactured from 16-gauge and 304 stainless steel depending on the series, with ceramic coating options available for heat management and long-term corrosion resistance.

BlackHeart Exhaust Systems

Hooker's BlackHeart cat-back and axle-back exhaust systems deliver a aggressive exhaust note and improved flow over OEM systems on modern muscle car and truck platforms. Mandrel-bent tubing maintains consistent interior diameter through every bend, eliminating the flow restriction of crush-bent alternatives. Muffler designs are selected for each application to deliver the correct sound character — aggressive at wide-open throttle, controlled at cruise — without the drone that makes some performance exhausts unlivable on the street.

LS & LT Swap Headers

Hooker produces a comprehensive lineup of headers specifically engineered for LS and LT engine swap applications in classic GM, Ford, and custom chassis builds. Swap headers address the unique packaging challenges of fitting a modern GM V8 into a chassis not originally designed for it — with primary tube routing, collector placement, and steering clearance engineered for the most popular swap combinations. Exhaust Manifolds

For applications where headers aren't practical due to ground clearance, emissions requirements, or packaging constraints, Hooker produces cast iron and fabricated exhaust manifolds that improve flow over OEM units without the installation complexity of a full header system. Build Quality & Fitment

Hooker headers are manufactured with precision-formed primary tubes, fully welded collectors, and flanges machined to correct port dimensions for each cylinder head application. Gasket surfaces are flat and true, ensuring a leak-free seal with standard exhaust gaskets. Ceramic coating on coated series headers provides thermal protection for surrounding components and significantly extends the corrosion resistance of the header over uncoated alternatives.

Installation Notes

Long-tube header installations on classic platforms are straightforward but require adequate ground clearance verification and may need motor mount adjustment on some applications. LS swap headers require confirmation of engine mount location and transmission tunnel clearance before ordering. O2 sensor bungs are included on emissions-compatible headers. A professional exhaust installation is recommended for cat-back systems to ensure correct alignment and leak-free collector connections.
