Frostbite
Frostbite — Direct-Fit Aluminum Radiators & Intercoolers for Muscle Cars & Performance Builds
Frostbite cooling products are engineered specifically for classic muscle cars and performance vehicles where the factory cooling system was never designed to handle a built engine, forced induction, or the heat load of modern performance driving. Every Frostbite radiator and intercooler is a direct-fit upgrade — designed to drop into the factory location using OEM mounting points and hose connections without cutting, fabricating, or compromising the engine bay.
Aluminum Radiators
Frostbite aluminum radiators are available in 2-row and 3-row core configurations, providing significantly greater cooling capacity than the original copper/brass radiators found in classic GM, Ford, and Mopar muscle cars. Aluminum construction reduces weight compared to OEM units while improving heat rejection efficiency — aluminum transfers heat more effectively than copper/brass at equivalent core thickness, meaning a Frostbite radiator outperforms a same-size OEM unit in both weight and cooling output.
Inlet and outlet locations, tank configurations, and transmission cooler provisions are matched to the factory specifications of each supported application, ensuring correct hose routing and fitment without modification. Frostbite radiators are TIG-welded with precision-formed tanks and pressure-tested before shipment for leak-free operation from day one.
Intercoolers & Charge Cooling
For forced induction builds on classic platforms, Frostbite intercoolers provide efficient charge air cooling in a package sized for the engine bay constraints of vintage muscle cars. Reducing intake charge temperature directly translates to denser air, more consistent combustion, and reduced detonation risk under boost — critical for supercharged and turbocharged builds running pump gas or E85. Frostbite intercooler cores are bar-and-plate construction for maximum heat exchange efficiency in a compact footprint.
Common Applications
Frostbite produces direct-fit cooling products for the most popular classic American muscle car platforms — including Chevrolet Camaro (1967–1969, 1970–1981), Chevrolet Chevelle and El Camino, Pontiac Firebird and Trans Am, Ford Mustang (1964–1973), Ford Torino, Dodge Challenger and Charger, Plymouth Barracuda, and a range of GM A-body and F-body applications. Coverage also extends to select late-model performance vehicles where direct-fit aluminum radiator upgrades are available.
Build Quality & Fitment
Frostbite radiators are manufactured from aircraft-grade aluminum with robotic and hand TIG welding for consistent weld quality across every unit. Core fin density and tube sizing are optimized for each application's cooling demand, not adapted from a universal core. Every radiator is pressure-tested and inspected before shipment. The direct-fit design philosophy means no drilling, no bracket fabrication, and no hose adapters on supported applications — just a clean, professional installation that looks correct in the engine bay.
Installation Notes
Frostbite radiator installations are straightforward bolt-in replacements on supported applications. Drain the cooling system, remove the OEM radiator, and install the Frostbite unit using the factory mounting hardware. Hose connections use OEM hose sizes on most applications. Refill with the correct coolant mixture for your climate and operating conditions, and bleed the system thoroughly before returning the vehicle to service. Electric fan upgrades are recommended for builds with significantly increased heat output over stock.
