Classic Instruments Custom Gauge Clusters, Speedometers & Dash Panels

The dash is the cockpit of your build — and Classic Instruments has been making sure it looks and functions the part since 1976. Their custom gauge clusters, speedometers, tachometers, and complete dash panel systems are manufactured in the USA and engineered specifically for hot rods, muscle cars, street rods, and restomod builds where factory instrumentation either doesn't exist or doesn't meet the standard of the rest of the build. If the interior matters — and it does — Classic Instruments is where serious builders go for gauges.

Complete Gauge Clusters & Dash Panels

Classic Instruments' complete gauge cluster and dash panel systems are their flagship product — fully integrated instrumentation solutions that replace the factory dash with a purpose-built panel featuring matched gauges, correct lighting, and clean wiring integration. Their vehicle-specific systems are engineered for popular classic platforms including first and second-gen Camaro, Chevelle, Nova, early Mustang, C10 trucks, and a wide range of street rod applications.

Each system is designed to fit the factory dash opening or replace the factory panel entirely, with gauge faces, bezels, and lighting that can be configured to match the build's aesthetic — from period-correct vintage styling to modern restomod design language. The result is a dash that looks like it was designed for the vehicle, not adapted from something else.

Speedometers & Tachometers

Classic Instruments' individual speedometers and tachometers are available in a range of sizes, face styles, and configurations to integrate into custom dash builds or replace individual factory gauges. Their GPS speedometers eliminate the need for a mechanical speedometer cable or VSS sender — a significant advantage for engine swap builds and custom chassis where routing a speedometer cable is impractical or impossible.

Electronic speedometers are available with programmable calibration for any tire size and axle ratio combination, ensuring accurate speed readings regardless of the drivetrain configuration. Tachometers cover the full range of ignition system types — points, electronic, and coil-on-plug — with correct signal input compatibility for any ignition system.

Analog & Digital Options

Classic Instruments offers both traditional analog gauge movements and modern digital/hybrid displays to match the build's design direction. Their analog gauges use precision stepper motor movements for smooth, accurate needle response without the hunting and lag of older air-core movements. Digital and hybrid displays provide the readability and data density of modern instrumentation in a package that integrates cleanly into classic dash environments.

Lighting & Customization

Classic Instruments gauges feature LED backlighting in a range of colors — white, red, blue, green, and amber — allowing builders to match the gauge lighting to the interior color scheme or build theme. Custom face printing is available for builders who want a truly one-of-a-kind instrumentation setup, with gauge faces designed to the builder's specification.
