MOMO Tuning & Safety

MOMO — Italian Racing Steering Wheels, Seats & Safety Equipment

MOMO has been engineering premium racing and performance components from Italy since 1964, supplying Formula 1 teams, World Rally Championship drivers, and serious performance enthusiasts with steering wheels, racing seats, harnesses, and safety equipment that set the standard for quality, ergonomics, and driver protection. Every MOMO product reflects the Italian design philosophy of combining function and aesthetics — components that perform at the highest level while looking the part in any cockpit.

Racing & Performance Steering Wheels

MOMO steering wheels are among the most recognized in motorsport, with a design heritage that includes decades of Formula 1 and endurance racing use. The Prototipo, Race, and Veloce series cover the most popular performance steering wheel profiles — from the classic three-spoke Prototipo design that has been a cockpit staple since the 1970s to modern flat-bottom and D-shape profiles that complement contemporary performance car interiors.

MOMO wheels are available in leather, suede (Alcantara), and perforated leather grip options, with spoke configurations in chrome, black, and brushed aluminum finishes. Diameter options range from 280mm to 350mm, allowing selection of the wheel size that best fits the cockpit dimensions and driving position of each specific application. All MOMO steering wheels use the MOMO hub adapter system for correct fitment to the steering column of each supported vehicle.

Hub Adapters & Quick Release Systems

MOMO produces application-specific hub adapters for a wide range of domestic and import steering columns, ensuring correct wheel centering, horn contact, and column compatibility. Quick release hub systems allow rapid steering wheel removal for driver entry and exit in race cars with tight cockpits, and provide an additional theft deterrent for street vehicles. MOMO quick release units are available in standard and racing configurations with positive locking mechanisms rated for competition use.

Racing Seats

MOMO racing seats are engineered for driver support, safety, and weight reduction in performance and competition applications. Fixed-back and reclining designs are available in fiberglass and carbon fiber shell constructions, with FIA-homologated options for sanctioned competition use. Side bolster height, seat width, and harness slot placement are designed for correct driver positioning and harness routing in both road car and race car installations.

Street performance seats balance the lateral support of a racing seat with the comfort required for daily driving, with adjustable recline and slide mechanisms that maintain the aggressive bolster profile of a competition seat without the fixed-back limitations of a pure race unit.

Harnesses & Safety Equipment

MOMO produces FIA-homologated racing harnesses in 4-point, 5-point, and 6-point configurations for sanctioned competition and track day use. Harness webbing, buckle hardware, and mounting hardware are manufactured to FIA 8853 standards, with homologation dates clearly marked for compliance verification. MOMO also produces HANS device tethers, fire-resistant gloves, and racing apparel for drivers who require a complete safety equipment solution from a single trusted brand.

Common Applications

MOMO steering wheels and hub adapters cover a wide range of domestic and import performance vehicles — including BMW, Audi, Volkswagen, Porsche, Honda, Subaru, Mitsubishi, Ford Mustang, Chevrolet Camaro, and many more. Racing seats and harnesses are universal fitment with application-specific mounting bracket options for the most popular track day and competition vehicles. MOMO's application coverage reflects their global presence in both European and domestic performance markets.

Italian Craftsmanship & Racing Heritage

Every MOMO product is designed in Italy with the attention to material quality, stitching precision, and finish detail that defines Italian performance manufacturing. Leather and Alcantara grip materials are sourced and processed to MOMO's specifications for consistent texture, durability, and feel across the product life. The brand's 60+ year racing heritage is not marketing — it's the foundation of every design decision made in the development of each product in the lineup.

Installation Notes

MOMO steering wheel installations require the correct application-specific hub adapter for the vehicle's steering column. Verify column manufacturer, year, and model before selecting a hub to ensure correct fit and horn contact compatibility. Racing seat installations require application-specific mounting brackets or custom fabrication to position the seat correctly relative to the pedals, steering wheel, and harness mounting points. FIA harnesses must be mounted to chassis attachment points r...
