Lokar

Lokar — Billet Aluminum Accessories & Custom Components for Hot Rods & Muscle Cars

Lokar has been manufacturing premium billet aluminum accessories and custom drivetrain components for the hot rod, street rod, and muscle car market since 1990. Built in Knoxville, Tennessee, every Lokar product is machined from billet aluminum or stainless steel with a level of fit and finish that elevates the detail quality of any build — from the throttle cable routing to the transmission dipstick handle to the pedal assembly under the dash. If it's a detail that gets touched, seen, or operated in a performance build, Lokar has engineered a better version of it.

Throttle & Kickdown Cables

Lokar throttle cables are one of the most popular upgrades in the hot rod and restomod market, replacing the factory cable or rod linkage with a smooth-operating, stainless-braided cable assembly that routes cleanly through the engine bay and connects to the carburetor or throttle body with a precision billet end fitting. Cables are available in multiple lengths and configurations to match different engine and firewall combinations, with carburetor-specific and throttle body-specific end fittings for correct attachment without adapters.

Kickdown cables for GM TH350, TH400, 700R4, and 4L60E transmissions are available to match, ensuring correct part-throttle downshift behavior and full-throttle kickdown response when the throttle cable is upgraded. Lokar kickdown cables are engineered to work with both carbureted and EFI throttle body applications.

Transmission Dipsticks & Filler Tubes

Lokar billet transmission dipsticks and filler tubes are a signature detail upgrade for any engine bay build. Available for GM, Ford, and Mopar automatic transmissions in chrome, black, and natural billet finishes, Lokar dipsticks replace the factory stamped steel units with a precision-machined billet handle and stainless tube that looks correct in a finished engine bay. Locking dipstick options prevent accidental removal in race applications where vibration can dislodge a standard dipstick.

Shifters & Shift Handles

Lokar produces floor-mounted automatic shifters, manual shifter handles, and shift knobs in billet aluminum and stainless steel for a wide range of transmission and console applications. Shifter designs range from traditional T-handle and pistol grip styles to modern billet configurations that complement restomod and custom interior builds. Shift boots and bezels are available to complete the installation with a finished, intentional appearance.

Pedal Assemblies & Brake Components

Lokar billet pedal assemblies replace factory stamped steel pedals with machined aluminum units that improve the appearance and feel of the driver footwell. Gas, brake, and clutch pedal options are available in multiple pad styles and finishes, with universal and application-specific mounting configurations. Lokar also produces emergency brake handles, cables, and mounting hardware for custom and classic vehicle applications where the factory e-brake system has been removed or relocated.

Common Applications

Lokar products are used across the full spectrum of hot rod, street rod, restomod, and muscle car builds — from traditional 1930s and 1940s hot rods through 1960s and 1970s muscle cars and modern restomod projects. GM, Ford, and Mopar applications are the primary focus, with product coverage for the most popular engine, transmission, and chassis combinations used in custom builds. Universal products cover non-standard applications where direct-fit options are not available.

Build Quality & USA Manufacturing

Every Lokar product is designed and manufactured in the USA from domestic billet aluminum and stainless steel. CNC machining produces consistent dimensions and surface finish across every unit, with anodizing, polishing, and chrome plating options available depending on the product and finish selected. Lokar's quality standard is show-car grade — the fit and finish of every component reflects the attention to detail that serious builders expect from a brand that has been supplying the custom car market for over 30 years.

Installation Notes

Lokar throttle cable installations require correct cable length selection for the specific firewall-to-carburetor distance and routing path of the build. Measure carefully before ordering to ensure the cable reaches without excess slack or tension. Transmission dipstick installations are straightforward replacements using the factory filler tube location. Pedal assembly installations vary by application — universal pedals require bracket fabrication for correct positioning relative to the master cylinder and steering column.
