Grant Steering Wheels — Aftermarket Steering for Hot Rods, Muscle Cars & Custom Builds

Grant Products has been manufacturing aftermarket steering wheels for over 50 years, building a reputation on quality construction, broad vehicle coverage, and designs that range from classic wood-rim and banjo styles to modern sport and GT profiles. Whether you're finishing a restomod, building a street rod, or upgrading the cockpit of a muscle car, Grant has a steering wheel and installation kit engineered to fit your column and match your build's aesthetic.

Steering Wheel Lineup

Grant's steering wheel catalog covers a wide range of styles to match different build themes and driver preferences. Classic series wheels feature wood rim, leather-wrapped, and chrome spoke designs that complement vintage and restomod interiors without looking out of place. Sport and GT series wheels offer a more modern, performance-oriented profile with contoured grips, reduced diameter for quicker steering response, and materials suited to spirited driving.

Diameter options typically range from 13.5” to 15” depending on the series, allowing builders to select the wheel size that best fits the cockpit dimensions and driving position of their specific vehicle. Smaller diameter wheels reduce steering effort at speed and provide a more direct feel, while larger diameters suit cruisers and vehicles where a relaxed driving position is the priority.

Installation Kits & Adapters

Grant's installation kit system is one of the most comprehensive in the aftermarket steering wheel industry, covering domestic and import steering columns across decades of vehicle production. Each kit includes the correct adapter hub, horn contact hardware, and mounting hardware to install a Grant wheel on the specific column without modification. Application coverage spans classic GM, Ford, Mopar, AMC, and import columns through current-model-year applications on supported platforms.

Grant installation kits are designed to maintain horn function through the adapter, with horn button options available separately to complete the installation with the correct aesthetic for the wheel and build style.

Horn Buttons & Accessories

Grant offers a full range of horn buttons in styles matched to their steering wheel lineup — from classic billet and chrome designs to logo-embossed and custom options. Horn buttons are a finishing detail that completes the steering wheel installation and ties the cockpit together visually. Grant also produces steering wheel covers, quick-release hubs for race applications, and column drop kits for custom steering column positioning.

Common Applications

Grant steering wheels and installation kits cover an extensive range of vehicles — from 1930s hot rod columns through late-model trucks and performance cars. Primary applications include classic GM A-body and F-body muscle cars, Ford Mustang and full-size trucks, Mopar B-body and E-body platforms, street rods, custom builds, and a wide range of import vehicles. Grant's application lookup covers both the steering wheel fitment and the correct installation kit for each column type.

Build Quality & Heritage

Grant steering wheels are manufactured with attention to grip comfort, spoke strength, and hub concentricity — the details that matter when the wheel is in your hands every drive. Rim materials are selected for durability and feel, with leather and wood options finished to a standard that holds up to regular use without premature wear or delamination. Grant's 50+ year track record in the aftermarket reflects a product that has earned its place in the hot rod and custom car community through consistent quality.

Installation Notes

Grant steering wheel installations require the correct application-specific installation kit for your column. Verify your column manufacturer, year, and model before selecting a kit to ensure correct hub fit and horn contact compatibility. Most installations are straightforward with basic hand tools and a steering wheel puller for removing the OEM wheel. Airbag-equipped vehicles require special consideration — Grant produces non-airbag replacement wheels for vehicles where the airbag system has been removed as part of a custom build.
