Cometic Gasket MLS Head Gaskets & Engine Sealing Solutions

A gasket failure on a performance engine isn't an inconvenience — it's a rebuild. Cometic Gasket has been manufacturing premium engine sealing solutions since 1989, and their multi-layer steel head gaskets, complete gasket kits, and specialty sealing components are the choice of professional engine builders, racing teams, and serious performance enthusiasts who can't afford a comeback. If you're building a performance engine and the sealing system matters — and it always does — Cometic is the correct specification.

Multi-Layer Steel (MLS) Head Gaskets

Cometic's MLS head gaskets are their flagship product and the reason the brand has the reputation it does. Multi-layer steel construction provides superior sealing capability over traditional composite gaskets by conforming to minor surface irregularities while maintaining consistent clamp load across the entire sealing surface. The embossed sealing rings around each combustion chamber and coolant port provide a positive, leak-free seal that holds under the elevated cylinder pressures of high-compression, forced induction, and nitrous-assisted engines.

Cometic MLS head gaskets are available in custom bore sizes and multiple thickness options — a critical advantage for performance engine builders who need to dial in compression ratio precisely. Standard bore sizes are available for OEM applications, with oversized options covering the full range of common overbore dimensions for rebuilt and stroked engines. Thickness options from 0.027" to 0.120" allow precise compression ratio adjustment without machining.

Complete Gasket Kits

Cometic's complete engine gasket kits provide every sealing component needed for a full engine rebuild in a single, matched set. Top-end kits cover the cylinder head, intake manifold, valve cover, and related components. Complete engine kits add the bottom-end sealing components — oil pan, timing cover, water pump, and rear main seal — for a comprehensive rebuild package.

Every component in a Cometic gasket kit is manufactured to the same quality standard as their individual MLS head gaskets — not sourced from lower-tier suppliers to fill out the kit. The result is a complete sealing system where every component performs at the same level.

Specialty & Racing Applications

Cometic's specialty gasket lineup covers the applications that standard gasket manufacturers don't address — custom bore MLS gaskets for stroker engines, ultra-thin head gaskets for maximum compression builds, and application-specific sealing solutions for racing engines where standard gaskets aren't adequate. Their custom gasket service allows engine builders to specify exact bore size, thickness, and port configuration for truly one-off applications.

Platform Coverage

Cometic gaskets are available for virtually every performance engine platform — small block and big block Chevy, LS and LT-series, small block Ford and modular, Hemi and small block Mopar, Honda and Acura B/K/H/F-series, Subaru EJ and FA-series, Mitsubishi 4G63, and a comprehensive range of import and domestic performance engines. If it's a performance engine, Cometic has a gasket for it.
